The Music

One of the most important aspects of this wedding is the music, mainly because music and food are a huge part of the Puerto Rican culture. It is what brings the families together (besides weddings and funerals, of course). Another reason is that my FI has a great appreciation for music. He is so in tuned with music and happens to be blessed with rhythmn. Because of this we had to make sure we chose a DJ that would compliment our tastes and style. Luckily, we were able to book a family friend that had already DJed for my sister and cousin's weddings and my Godmother's 50th. When my FI heard him, he knew that he wanted this DJ, because the DJ caught my FI's attention by playing a song from Amil Larreaux (one of his favorite artists), an awesome singer who doesn't get much playing time.

So before we visited the DJ this past Sunday, we wanted to make sure we had organized a list of songs mostly to be a guideline for the DJ. So here are a few of the songs we will be jamming to at the wedding...

Although, we gave the DJ a guideline we encouraged him to "sprinkle" in some songs that he knows may have not been heard by most of the crowd but will be appreciated. Also, there is no doubt that he will be rockin' some Merengue, Salsa, and the Bachata during the night.

So have you come up with your music list as a guideline or are you putting the music in the DJ's hands?
