Life and the BAD things that come with it...

I have mentioned many times before that Life just seems to get in the way with everything. Unfortunately, this weekend was one of those times.

Apparently, sometime early Saturday morning my car was broken into by some punk a$$ kids on bikes. Oh boy, did they hit the jackpot with my car. They stole my FI's wallet that had all his CCs, bank cards, acct. #'s, $160 in cash and get this... his SS card! Ugh! But that isn't the best part. They also took his work laptop bag that also had his company's brand new laptop in it!

Lessons learned...Don't leave your car unlocked and don't leave anything valuable in the car!

NOTE: This was a miscommunication on our part because my OCD NEVER lets me leave the car unlocked and we ALWAYS empty out my car for the fear of something like this happening... The first time we make this mistake and we get punished for it... FOurL!

  2. That really sucks! I am so sorry! The sad part is- you used to be able to leave your house and car unlocked and not worry about people stealing from you. I don't think we will ever get back to that unfortunately. I hope that those kids are caught!

  3. I am so sorry to hear about that! Being more optimistic, at least you still have your car! :) That's one way to look at it!! On another note, I despise thieves, we work to hard to get what we have for some punk to take it away!! Who knows they may catch the neighborhood criminals and you may get your stuff back? Can you file an insurance claim?

  4. Yes, we have filed an insurance claim, just waiting on his boss to do his thing so he can get paid for this mess. We also have an investigator from the local police on the case. They have some of my FI's possessions to look for fingerprints and once my FI's boss gets the serial info for the computer that will be in the system too, so they can track it if it is sold.
