The Hair

One of the details of the wedding that I knew was going to be tough was my hair. I just didn't think it was going to be this tough. There are so many beautiful styles out there but I haven't found many that I like or many that I know a stylist can do on my hair.

I have fine, thin, frizzy, curly hair that is down to the middle of my back. It's the kind of hair that never acts the same way twice. Just writing it down makes it sound like the most perfect hair to have :) {Sarcasm inserted here}. Since this is what I have to deal with, I decided that I definitely wanted my hair up. There is definitely a chance of high humidity and heat in September so if I have it down, it will frizz.

So what am I looking for you ask? Well I want an updo but I do NOT want my hair to be slicked back. That look is beautiful but I have played out that style long ago AND it usually is a cop-out hairdo for stylists when working with my hair. I am thinking a little height in the front but nothing unnatural and I am thinking of pinned up curls in the back. It is the semi-messy look with a little bit of structure, similar to Scarlett Johansson's look at "The Island" premiere in 2005 (shown below).

There is something that I just LOVE about this style. It's funky, cool and serves my purpose (reminder: updo, un-slicked, & semi-messy w/ structure).

I will not be wearing a veil so in addition to the style, I will be wearing this fascinator made by the Etsy seller, BrendasBridalVeils.

Next up? The Makeup.

Did you have a difficult time figuring out what you wanted your hair to be like for your dream wedding? Do you have unmanagable hair like me?

Life and the BAD things that come with it...

I have mentioned many times before that Life just seems to get in the way with everything. Unfortunately, this weekend was one of those times.

Apparently, sometime early Saturday morning my car was broken into by some punk a$$ kids on bikes. Oh boy, did they hit the jackpot with my car. They stole my FI's wallet that had all his CCs, bank cards, acct. #'s, $160 in cash and get this... his SS card! Ugh! But that isn't the best part. They also took his work laptop bag that also had his company's brand new laptop in it!

Lessons learned...Don't leave your car unlocked and don't leave anything valuable in the car!

NOTE: This was a miscommunication on our part because my OCD NEVER lets me leave the car unlocked and we ALWAYS empty out my car for the fear of something like this happening... The first time we make this mistake and we get punished for it... FOurL!
