Hair & Makeup Trial

Two weekends ago I had my hair and makeup trial. I really didn't know what to expect but my great stylist from TC Salon Spa, Nicole, not only made me feel comfortable but eased my fears with my hair by doing what I believe was an awesome job. She didn't show fear and she was willing to do many styles instead of taking the asy way out and slicking back my hair as many stylists before has done to me. She will also be graced with the task of doing my PWC on Sunday.

Can you tell how comfortable I was? I was so happy to be there.

Oh yeah, I was a biohazard...Can you believe what us women go through for a day of styling, lol?

This really isn't a great picture of the back of my hair. Essentially it is a bunch of loose curls pinned up.

Me sans make-up!

Since my dopey self decided to forget my hair fascinator I had to put it in myself to take a picture of it in my hair. This will be placed differently when I actually bring it to the shop.

I think the only thing I would have done differently would have been to get highlights prior to the wedding as it would have brought a different type of dimension to the hair since right now it is one shade of brown all over except for the ends.
Now onto the make-up. Maia also did a wonderful job. She surpassed my goal of not looking like an Oompa Loompa.

So what do you think? Do like the hair? What about the makeup?
My FI wasn't too thrilled about the blush. Do you think it is a bit much?

The Dessert Buffet

WARNING! This is not for the Bridal dieters :)!

This next post is for those who are OK to drool over some yummy sweets that will fulfill our dessert buffet at the wedding.

We are going to have a variety of miniature desserts. Our goal was to provide a dessert other than the cake that can be eaten without having to have plates thus the miniature (fingerfood) size. We have been lucky enough to have my awesome Aunt L to provide some delicious desserts for the table. The remaining table will be supplemented with other mini goodies such as cupcakes, brownies and even handmade flavored gourmet marshmallows (yes, marshmallows!) from other bakers / bakeries.

My Aunt L will be providing the following delicious desserts, which she had supplied at my shower to taste test:

  • Cake Balls (Chocolate, Strawberry & Lemon)
  • Ricotta Cookies (with & without chocolate chips)
  • Black Bottom Cheesecakes
  • Thumbprint Cookies with Apricot or Raspberry filling
  • Mini-Cheesecake with Cherry topping
  • Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Cake Balls

Sample desserts at my shower to be made for the wedding

I have seen these flavored gourmet marshmallows all over Etsy and all the buyers have given them great reviews so why not incorporate this unique snack in our wedding. So I turned to MiaMallows to purchase her 36 piece gourmet assortment. To pick out the 6 flavors, I asked my FI and our mothers to come up with their top 6 flavors from MiaMallows flavors list (Banana, Blueberry, Caramel, Cherry, Chocolate, Coconut, Coffee, Dulce De Leche, Lemon, Lime, Orange, Peach, Peanut Butter, Pina Colada, Pineapple, Raspberry, Strawberry, Vanilla (Original Flavor). I came up with our selections by what was requested more.

The 6 flavors we chose are:
  • Chocolate
  • Strawberry
  • Vanilla
  • Peanut Butter
  • Dulce De Leche
  • Banana

Are you drooling yet?

As mentioned above we will supplement the buffet with other goodies from other bakers / bakeries. I haven't quite made the final decision yet as to whether we will be getting cupcakes from the supermarket, Wegmans, or an AWESOME local Vegan bakery called Vegan Treats. Wegmans would be delicious and more budget friendly but they would not be nearly as pretty as the Vegan Treats cupcakes. The Vegan cupcakes are the least budget friendly with 36 cupcakes for $52+ dollars but if they are half as good as their other desserts they will be worth every penny, I am just afraid I won't get to have one :).

Here is a picture from their website of their cupcakes...oh and this is how they really look in person too!! OMG!

So what would you go for? The budget friendly cupcake or the eye appealing cupcake?

I can just buy the cupcakes and keep them all to myself too :)... J/K

Today's The Due Date...

For the birth of Ayden Michael, my FSIL & FBIL's first baby!

As of Saturday, my FSIL has been dialated to 1cm...Only 9cm more to go :)!
