SURPRISE...It's your Bridal Shower!!

Yep, yesterday was my surprise Bridal Shower and I was completely surprised! My Mom, FMIL, my FI and all my family and friends did an awesome job keeping the details hidden. I really had no clue... There were friends, family, food, gifts, margaritas, penises and gorilla strippers (YIKES!!)

Don't worry, I will share all the details once I organize all the pics.

Tore Up From The Floor Up

Well from the knees down. Yes, I know that this doesn't sound like it is leading to anything clean but I promise it is...

Lately, our poochie Buddy has been suffering from a skin disorder to where he has hot spots throughout his body. Because of this my FI have been having to treat him to more baths then he is used to. So last night, my FI decided to give Buddy a wash with some new natural medicated soap. My FI always does the washing and I get to watch =)

Well yesterday I was helping out a bit, holding the soap and the hose. As I was standing there I starting to feel a burning/stinging sensation on my lower legs. So much so that I was continuing to rub my legs which eventually led to scratching. If you haven't guessed it yet, I'll tell you. I was bit by our lovely mosquitos.

When I finally got into the house, I noticed that I didn't just have 1 bite but 16 bites!! My legs were on fire, so I got out my trusty Aveeno anti-itch cream and layed it all on the bites. Unfortunately for me, my doc says I am allergic to getting bites so that is why they turn into welts which eventually turn black & blue causing them to bruise.

This is just one bite...

My FI and I joke around saying they bite me because I am sweet... Nice! The worst part is that my FI didn't get any bites. Lucky him!!

Are any of you a magnet to mosquitos or other pesky bugs? How do you soothe your bites?

Shoes, Glorious Shoes!

Hello -- My name is The Roddy Bride and I am a Shoe-a-holic!

All joking aside, at one point I had 70+ shoes (yes, I know I had a problem, lol). So why the heck was I having trouble finding THE wedding shoe. As I mentioned in a previous post, I had found the reception shoe but no such luck with the wedding shoe. I searched high and low for THE shoe but nothing caught my attention. So today, I saw a blog posting about shoes from Nina so I decided to take a look.

Guess what?!?

I think I may have found THE shoe (or more like a few of them)!

So I am going to need a bit of your help ladies! I need you to let me know which one you like and think will go best with the dress.

If you can recall, this is what my wedding dress looks like:

Option # 1:

Nina - Clova

Option #2:

Nina - Ulexa

Option #3:

Nina - Elga

The Feeling

You ever get the feeling where you just want something to be done with? Anyone else feeling anxiety or pressure to get things done?

Well that is me. I have been planning this wedding (with the help of others) for the last 7 + months and I am MORE than ready to get married already. It's not that I don't enjoy the planning or the DIY projects (which I love), I just just feel like I have been doing this forever. And to think I wanted at least a year to plan...

Maybe it is anxiety taking over since there is 60 days left and I have a TON of work to do or that the BIG payments are due in 30 days. Either way, I sometimes wish I would have scrapped the big wedding and went to the courthouse. If we would have done the courthouse we would have been married already. I mean why wait until September to do it in that case. We probably would have been searching for a house at this time instead of throwing one of the biggest bashes of our lives.

I am finding that the summer is disappearing right before my eyes. Since the wedding is so close, I will no longer have any free weekends which is what I dreaded. I will spend almost every weekend traveling to my parents house 1.5 hours away to work on the wedding and the remaining weekends attending an engagement party and a baby shower.

Although I am ranting about this wedding, I honestly cannot wait to celebrate and be married to my hubby-to-be. Our family's 4th of July picnic was a preview of the wedding and it was oh so much fun. I just can't wait until the payments have been made so that I can finally "relax" and party!

Happy Fourth!

I just want to take time out of my life to give a BIG THANKS to the people this holiday is truly for, the Vets and Soldiers. Those who have sacrificed their lives to allow us to live in freedom. For this, I truly thank you!

I also want to shout out and send my prayers to my cousin, Sam, who is in the Army. He will be deploying to Kuwait then to Iraq next weekend. We will miss him and pray that he is protected by God's angels every day he is out there. He just joined the Army the end of last year and he is already being shipped out. Because of this, he will not be attending the wedding. BUT I am happy he will be at my family's big 4th of July bash on Saturday.

God Bless Sam Bam!
