It really all started on Saturday. Saturday the hubby took his family to north Jersey to visit his brother's family while I headed towards reading for my first combined Scentsy/Velata party. When all was finished, the hubby wasn't home yet so I called my sister to go have dinner, since her kids were with their father that day. Instead of it just being my sister, I also had dinner with who I call "The Originals" - my Mom, Dad, sister and brother. This was the first time in a long time that my Mom had all her kids together by themselves. It really was a great time. We went to P.J. Whelihans a bar and grill. The food was delicious! The place was packed and the noise was pretty loud but we still enjoyed ourselves. I just can't wait to take the hubs there for date night!
Sunday, I woke up to my daughter smiling at me. My beautiful princess! It's one of the best things in the world in addition to her laughter. So we did the usual, woke up and head to the kitchen for breakfast. On the counter were two cards waiting for me. Actually, when I entered the kitchen, Saya was holding one out to me. So cute! The hubby always gets me two cards, one from Saya and one for him. Saya's card was obviously cute. The hubs cards are either lovely romantic cards or funny ones. He chose the funny one this year ;)
Men...What will we do without them, lol!
I also got a nice little treat. The hubs made us breakfast and I requested the old fashioned egg in the hole with strawberries on the side. Yummy! There really is nothing like a classic breakfast!
The hubs had to run some errands, so it was Mommy-daughter time until he returned. We played but we must of worn her our early because she was out for her nap by 11am (usually doesn't happen until 1ish, 2ish, 3ish or never - ha!). But once she woke up we all got ready to go to my parents to see my Mom and of course the rest of my family. We had a wonderful cookout but since it was so hot and some of us could not bear the heat (mother-lol) some of us were outside while the others were inside with the air conditioning. All in all, it was a good time as always.
I may not say it enough but I really do love my family!
Hope you or your mother had a wonderful Mother's day!
